Tubular Steel (a member of the Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. family of companies) is currently recruiting for a Saw Operator at our plant in New Haven, MO. These key positions are ground level opportunities requiring no former experience in the steel industry. As a bending fabricator and steel tubing resource, we pride ourselves in acquiring individuals with no prior related work experience but hold a proven track record of employment. Essential Functions of the Job: Operate steel cutting saws to meet customer specifications Responsibilities: Operate saws in a safe manner according to the Health & Safety Program; Inspect parts to customer prints and QA sheets; Set-up saws and change blades/tooling for consistent cutting; Operate saws in an efficient and productive manner; Wear steel toe boots and hearing protection while working. Qualifications: Ability to read prints; Good math skills (geometry, fractions) to convert metrics to decimal; Good manual dexterity to make fine mechanical adjustments; Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands : Able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time Able to bend and rotate at the waist many times per hour Can climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with hands and arms Possess good manual dexterity and balance Wear eye protection, steel toe boots and hard hat while working Compensation is commensurate with your experience level.
