Full Time Evening Laundry 2:00 PM - 10:30 pm Laundry JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Works as a team member to perform day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards. Works under the supervision of the Administrator, to assure that our facility is maintained clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents. This list demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed to be a Housekeeper. This list is not a complete list of duties and requirements of the Laundry department. Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor. Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned. Keep supervisor informed of supply needs. Collect and sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas. Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment. Wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures. Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily and/or as instructed. Keep walls and ceilings clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc. Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment or floor surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions. During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed. Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner. QUALIFICATIONS :Must possess, as a minimum, a 10 th grade education ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To be successful in this job, the employee must be able to stand and walk during the shift. Movements required are bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, pushing/pulling, and reach above shoulder level. Hand use is not constant and low stress. Hand use will include occasional griping, squeezing, and using the fingers to feel and control objects. The individual must be able to carry 30 pounds and be able to lift and move 75 pounds or more.I must meet all qualifications and can perform all duties and responsibilities fully without additional accommodations or help. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While doing this job the Laundry worker could be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and body fluids, which can contain AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Chemical exposures are limited to cleaners, disinfectants, and personal care items. Laundry workers occasionally work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays.
