Description:

Summary: Programs and Operates CNC Lathe/Mill to manufacture components and finished goods to the customer's specification.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Ability to read and write G-Code Programs (Mastercam a plus)Read & Interpret BlueprintsBasic Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Use measurement equipment (ring and plug gauges, caliper, micrometer shadow graph)Comprehend fundamentals of machining for manual and CNC machines, lathe and millRun/operate CNC lathe and milling machinesConduct/assist with machine set upso Change/design/manufacture lathe jawso Develop work holding fixtureso Change tools, offsets & tool lengthso Run first part and obtain QC approvalModify program by selecting optimal machining conditions: feed, speed, depth of cut, & axis movements and positioningDemonstrate shop math skillsEducate machinists how to operate machines and perform set-upsConduct and verify minimal machine maintenance has been done on equipment prior to use (fluid levels, filters, cleaning)Operates drill presses, punch presses, and deburring equipment/machines to assist in assembly or finishing operation.Performs all duties of Material Handler or Laborer.Performs all required inspections and filling out inspection sheets.Maintains material identification.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel) a plusExperience with Epicor Vista a plusSupervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
