We are looking for Food Servers for our Fleetwood Restaurant. This a great opportunity to be part of a team setting the foundation for award-winning food at a brand new, multi-million dollar restaurant in Napa Valley. From award-winning restaurant designer Chris Sheffield of SL Designs, The Fleetwood Restaurant is set to open in mid-August on the grounds of Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa. With a relaxed casual vibe, in the spirit of the award winning and acclaimed Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa , we do Napa differently. The restaurant is designed for communal, shared dining experiences, with creative freedom to develop an accessible, well-executed but focused menu that appeals to our targeted customer - using the best regional ingredients available. Craft cocktails, local beers, and of course wine, will compliment your menu. The restaurant features indoor-outdoor dining, private dining rooms for corporate meetings, weddings, and events, two wood-fired Mugnaini ovens, and seating for up to 152 guests. Our location, at the end of the Silverado Trail, is home to Calistoga's storied mineral pools and our very own Moonacre Spa. Wellness, wine, and great food? We're checking all the boxes. The restaurant is open to hotel guests and locals alike-whether grabbing a seat at our open kitchen counter as the action unfolds or sharing a meal in our dining room. The restaurant will also provide pool service and host both corporate events and social parties. As a Food Server you will take food and beverage orders from restaurant guests, retrieve the same from the kitchen, and serve to guest in an efficient and professional manner. Job Duties: To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Food and Beverage Manager/Restaurant Manager when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction. To extend a courteous, friendly and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart. To make the Food and Beverage Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints. To follow all specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service to restaurant guests, including suggestive selling of menu items; taking and serving food and beverage orders; and opening, closing and presenting guest checks. To satisfactorily perform, as directed, all routine opening and closing side duties including preparing trays, folding napkins and stocking and pre-set up of station to facilitate food service. To assist to remove used dishes from guest tables. To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, credit and gift certificate transactions, and to correctly use the POS system. To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage. To follow all company policies and procedures. To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions. To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times. Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others. To attend all mandatory meetings as directed. To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed. Essential Experience/Aptitudes: Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Must have High school diploma or equivalent. Must have minimum one year experience in food service and display basic knowledge of foods and beverages, service standards and procedures. Familiarity with state liquor laws is preferred. Desired Skills/Experience: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public. Possess a courteous, friendly and professional manner. Good team player. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision. Able to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once. Must be organized, efficient and meet high quality standards for service. Willingness to go the extra mile. Must be punctual with regular and reliable attendance. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Essential Physical Abilities: Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short to moderate distances. Must be able to work well at a very fast pace, under pressure. Makes frequent trips to kitchen where air may be moist, warm and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floor may be slippery from moisture and grease.
