HIRING IMMEDIATELY- DSP positions The Arc Ontario of Canandaigua, NY , a Human Services Agency, is seeking to hire entry-level full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Job Exploration/Training (JET) Program to provide individuals with developmental disabilities job exploration/training support services in obtaining their life goals. The role of this position is to teach individuals with developmental disabilities the skills to promote growth and independence in their job exploration in the community. All COVID-19 safety requirements are strictly adhered to at The Arc Ontario and all PPE are provided for all employees. The safety of the individuals we support and the safety of our employees are both very important to The Arc Ontario. Training on all safety requirements will be provided during the onboarding process. Our Story: Founded in 1954, The Arc Ontario is a resource for people with disabilities or other challenges and their families, providing services and support that encourage people to fulfill their potential. DSP-JET Responsibilities: Provides habilitation support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, generally on a small group or one-to-one basis in a variety of community settings. Provides training opportunities designed to enhance each person's self-sufficiency in the areas of employment, personal independence, community integration and productivity. Promotes agency mission, vision and values. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (10am-6pm) with flexibility to meet program needs. Work Location: Works in the community across Ontario County, NY. DSP-Community Habilitation Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. HS diploma or an equivalent amount of education/experience required. One year of experience preferred. Valid NYS Driver's license Own a reliable vehicle. Successful completion of mandatory training requirements within first three (3) months of hire. Including, but not limited to certification in Behavior Management (SCIP-R), Certification to drive agency vehicles/vans, Lifting and other physical assistance techniques, CPR and First Aid, Medication Administration certification and Agency Driver Certification.
