JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Music should have a meaningful understanding of Roman Catholic liturgy. He or she is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of music in the parish, under the general direction of the Pastor. The Music Director is a staff of the parish and is therefore required to attend staff functions (including meetings) when available. He/she collaborates with clergy, volunteers, and music ministers to plan and execute music for parish liturgies. He/she serves as principal musician, pianist, organist, and choir director, with latitude to exercise discretion as much as necessary. This position is a part-time position which requires weekdays, evenings, and weekend hours.
