SUMMARY:All Junior Camp Staff are responsible for being positive role models for campers, establishing a relationship with each camper and working towards the goal of group cohesiveness. In addition, counselors must have an understanding and willingness to abide by the camp's philosophy, mission and objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Leadership Trainingo Participation at all sessions of Staff Orientationo Participation at all Unit and Staff meetingso Ability to ask for assistance as needed from Counselor and Unit Leadero Develop strong leadership skills including the ability to be a problem solvero Develop appropriate discipline measures for campers Supervisiono Responsible for the safety of assigned camper groups on a daily basis and during camp-wide field trips and special eventso Establish a positive rapport & understanding of each individual campero Must be changed into bathing suit prepared to swim every day & assist with assigned swim groupo Take an active role in maintaining the cleanliness of the camp community Programmingo Assist in the creation of a well-rounded creative weekly schedule with the input of camperso Take an active role in the planning of age-appropriate group activities for open modso Assist in the development & implementation of weekly Unit programso Assist in the development & implementation of 2 overnight or stay late special event themes within Unit teamo Implement activities that will encourage group cohesiono Active participation for camp-wide special events & trips Administrative Dutieso Understand and accept the Camp's philosophy and objectives and work towards its fulfillmento Participation at all weekly staff meetingso Completion of written materials as requested, such as: Accurate daily attendance Weekly schedule Requisitions for materials requested Accurate daily lunch and snack countsWorking papers required for applicants 16-17Pay starting at $14.20 an hour Job Posted by ApplicantPro
