Glosten (equal opportunity employer) seeks to fill a full-time position for a Senior Engineer in its Ocean Engineering and Analysis Group. The engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership and project management for projects including climatology assessment, wave hindcasting, seakeeping studies, calculation of hydrodynamic loads on offshore structures, dynamic loads analysis, spectral fatigue analysis, mooring system design and analysis, hydroelastic analysis of large floating structures, resistance and propulsion, and computational fluid dynamics studies. Applications include ship design, marine construction equipment, oil and gas platforms, research platforms, civil structures, and offshore floating wind turbine platforms. Responsibilities Manage projects, with responsibility for technical leadership, quality, budget, and schedule. Perform, check, and review analysis and design work. Train and mentor technical staff. Developing new business, including client contact and proposal development Travel for project meetings, conferences, marketing, testing, and field surveys Qualifications 5-10 years of work experience as a naval architect/ocean engineer in the disciplines of seakeeping, hydrodynamic loads, mooring system analysis, and mooring system design. Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree or above preferred) in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or related discipline. Licensed professional engineer is preferred. Demonstrated ability to apply fundamental engineering principals to problem solving, development of analytical approaches, and development of novel design concepts. Experienced in use of standard marine analytical and simulation software, including Visual SMP, WAMIT, MORA, DeepC, OrcaFlex, HARP, AQWA, Experience with WAMIT and OrcaFlex preferred. Experience in model testing of vessels and offshore structures. Working knowledge of trim and stability calculations and hydrostatics software. Experience with GHS preferred. Working knowledge of finite-element analysis methods and tools. Experience with MAESTRO and NEi NASTRAN preferred. Effective technical communication skills in verbal, written, and graphic formats Working knowledge of marine standards and regulatory requirements (USCG, ABS, DNV, API) Some travel and field work are required. Some project assignments may require a valid driver's license, current passport, and/or TWIC card.
