Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination effective 9/1/2021 Episcopal Homes a non-profit senior living organization in the heart of St. Paul offering skilled nursing, transitional care, assisted and independent living has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our growing in-house therapy team. This individual is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to our campus seniors. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: On call Job Duties: Utilizes problem solving, decision making methodology in evaluating, planning, communicating, directing and delivering patient care. Performs evaluations and discharges, determines appropriateness of treatment, clarifies orders as needed, and establishes OT plan of care. Provides direct OT services following standard procedures and safety precautions for the application and use of treatment modalities Determines patient needs for adaptive equipment and identifies hazards of architectural barriers. Provides training and education to patient, family and staff. Maintains required documentation Provides direction and supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistant, and physical therapy students Performs screenings and pursues physician orders when appropriate Provides reports and recommendations for patient care conferences, discharge meetings, etc Obtains necessary authorization for OT services Participates in the development, revision, and implementation of programming for the occupational therapy department. Participates in the development and presentation of in-service programs to rehab and interdisciplinary team Contributes to the job performance evaluation process for COTAs Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees. Maintains the work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures at all times. Participates in educational programs in the interest of improving skills as required, and for professional growth and development. Follows State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the practice of Occupational Therapy. May perform reasonable similar or related duties as assigned or instructed.
