Adult and Children's Unit Liaison Grade 23 Full Time Salary range: $80,721 to $102,266 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc (RFMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Adult and Children's Unit Liaison within the Children's Unit at the OMH New York City Field Office. The ideal candidate would have the following experience: Working in an organization that serves adults, children, and youth and their families who rely on behavioral health services that support their recovery and quality of life Working in an organization that intersects with other governmental agencies at both local and state level Experience working with behavioral and developmentally challenged adults, children, and youth Working knowledge of OPWDD system FUNCTION AND SCOPE: This position will be the lead for NYC Field Office Children's team to address systems barriers for children, youth, and adults who are dually diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disorders and mental health conditions, as well as their families. Experience and knowledge of the OPWDD, Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities, is preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: OMH Field Office Liaison for all concerns related to youth and adults with co-occurring developmental disabilities and mental health issues. Consult with Field Office Director of Clinical Services, Director of Adult Services, and Director of Children's Services. Track both Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program and inpatient cases of dually diagnosed individuals, ongoing outreach to hospitals, and identification of those who frequent Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program/Emergency Room, identify barriers to discharge. Field Office contact for the Kings County Hospital Developmentally Disabled unit. Participate in review of all dual diagnosed cases for both adults and children that have been inpatient/Emergency Room for 1 month or more. Attend bi-weekly meetings with Central Office, Developmental Disability Regional Office's Crisis Unit. Provision of technical assistance to NYC Residential Treatment Facility's, in particular SCO, the statewide Residential Treatment Facility for dual diagnosed youth as needed with the Field Office Children's Residential Director. Provision of trainings and technical assistance to both mental health providers and agencies who serve the Developmentally Disabled population. Attend OPWDD trainings. SYSTEMS COLLABORATION: In conjunction with OPWDD develop provider trainings with topics related to establishing eligibility, connection to services, and navigation of the OPWDD system. Collaboration with systems partners such as Agency for Children's Services (ACS), Department of Homelessness, NYC Department of Education, and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Create training materials needed for providers. Participate in discussion of complex cases. CHILDREN'S TEAM RESPONSIBIITIES: Participate in Everest concerns related to children and families. Participate in licensing reviews that include but are not limited to the following programs, clinic, Children's Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (CMHRS). Provide technical support in other areas related to children's services as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work and 6 years of related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree (Psychology, Social Work, or a related degree such as an LMHC, Licensed Mental Health Clinician) and 3-5 years of experience working with dual diagnosed population preferred. RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as two (2) or more weeks since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
