POSITION SUMMARY Plan, direct, or coordinate the various tasks relating to school bus transportation within an organization or the activities of organizations that provide transportation services. Essential Functions Statement(s) •Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training school bus drivers and retention.•Prepare, print and place all school bus work tickets for drivers and ensure drivers understand their route.•Ensure all school bus keys are available and attainable by school bus drivers. •Ensure school bus drivers arrive on time and clock in/out according to their work schedules.•Ensure replacement of no show, call off and tardy drivers to ensure 100% route coverage.•Ensure drivers are in the proper uniform.•Monitor drivers for reasonable suspicion.•Ensure drivers have in their possession all credentials required to operate assigned equipment.•Ensure drivers are briefed on daily weather and road conditions.•Review driver HOS daily to ensure drivers are in compliance.•Ensure all equipment is clean, interior/exterior prior to departure.•Ensure drivers conduct both pre/post vehicle inspections and or DVIR's. •Review and process DVIRs.•Ensure drivers refuel equipment daily upon returning to the yard.•Ensure all drivers remove trash and debris from their bus upon returning to the yard.•Ensure drivers are briefed on company policies and DOT regulations.•Enforce all policies and procedures and promote a clean and healthy work environment.•Handle all driver related issues and escalate to School Bus Operations Manager when necessary. •Coordinate with School Bus Operations Manager for driver time off requests.•Coordinate with Risk & Safety Director for any Safety and HOS concerns or issues.•Coordinate with detailer daily for vehicle cleaning.•Assist with training when needed.•Maintain shop office and yard.•Performs other duties as assigned.
