Reporting to the Controller, this position has been developed to support their organizational and operational growth. POSITION DESCRIPTION : The Accounting Manager will be the key business connection between the Accounting Department and the various building division project managers. In addition to managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the department, the Accounting Manager will cultivate relationships with subcontractors and vendors, coordinate the analysis of multiple business metrics, and collaborate cross-functionally to support ownership enterprises. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervision: Lead a team of three by evaluating, managing, and developing them within the Accounting Department Provide guidance and best practices to keep the accounting team motivated and challenged General Accounting and FP&A: Develop and maintain systems and procedures that ensure accuracy and uphold the integrity of our figures as needed to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Direct the month end close process and report financial data to each of the six building divisions Prepare and approve month end account reconciliations along with annual financial audit schedules Assist in the formulation and assessment of the annual budget Ad-hoc: Improve current software through research and suggest or implement new technology to advance the business Repeatedly analyze current processes to increase efficiencies and add value to every endeavor Respond to ownership and management inquiries quickly and accurately POSITION QUALIFICATIONS : Education: Accounting or Finance degree from a 4-year college or university Knowledge Required: Viewpoint software a major plus Microsoft Excel and Windows environment Extreme attention to detail, excellent math aptitude, and good business judgement Experience Required: Three - five years of experience as part of an accounting/finance team Construction background is highly advantageous but not required Prior management of a team is preferred Skills/Abilities: Strong communicator that works well with others Very organized, analytical, problem-solving mindset POSITION CAREER PATH : Each individual's career path is a developmental process that should be reviewed and assessed regularly with the position supervisor to ensure the career path direction is in line with the employee and company goals and expectations.
