Job Description Job Title : Nuclear Medicine / PET Technologist Department : Imaging / Nuclear Medicine / PET Reports To : Nuclear Medicine / PET supervisor. Job Summary : Full Time, days, with call. Employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and safe care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. Employee will be responsible for routine Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging. Prepare, administer and measure radioactive isotopes in diagnostic, some therapeutic, and tracer studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patient to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under the direction of Radiologist. Job Responsibilities include : Calculates, measures, prepares and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals, using computer and following physician's prescription and x-rays. Competently perform imaging procedures, including administration of radioisotopes. Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment. -Maintain compassionate patient care, comfort and safety, while ensuring patient confidentiality - Performs daily, weekly and quarterly QC on Nuclear and PET scanners. - Performs daily, weekly, quarterly and annual QC on all equipment including dose calibrator. - Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment. Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above. Follows all state regulations, and perform and maintain department QA procedures and documentation. Assists with training and educating new staff members and students as appropriate. Maintains all credentials and CE credits essential to position. Requirements : - NMTCB or ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine. - New York State Department of Health License or eligible. - NMTCB; plus CT certification or ARRT; NM plus CT or DX certification. Education – Associates degree in Nuclear Medicine or graduation from accredited Nuclear Medicine certificate program. Experience – Experience a plus, but new grads welcome. Licensure –NYS NM, DX or CT Physical Requirements - Physical Requirements – Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance. = Essential functions Job Posted by ApplicantPro
