Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will work on improving process and efficiency in the plant as well as scrap reduction. Understanding product specifications, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Position placement in Hastings and/or Caledonia based on fitment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Gain an understanding of product and processes including CNC valve machining, robotics, sprinkler machining and assembly. Work closely with the engineering and maintenance functions Provide engineering support for plant operation. Troubleshoot daily production problems using root cause analysis methods as they occur. Analyze manufacturing data to establish priority of actions in assigned work centers. Assess process capability for opportunities for improvement. Support Engineering trials and assist in new equipment startup. Creates and revise equipment, tooling, and gage drawings. Performs other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Currently pursuing a degree in Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent. High level of analytical ability. Solid problem solving skills. Interest in CNC machining, stampings, robotics, CAD tools, pneumatic circuits, materials, LEAN manufacturing concepts, automated cellular assembly, ladder logic and rotary transfer machining.
