The International School of Portland is hiring for Summer Camp! We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Seasonal full time Spanish Immersion- Teaching Assistants to join our team. Our teachers and teacher assistants come from around the world and are passionate about making language learning fun through hands-on activities, songs, games, outdoor fun, and cultural connections. Learn more about our camp at https://intlschool.org/summer/ . DATES 2023: Teacher Assistants may work in one, two, or all three sessions. Session 1 - June 26 - July 7 (no camp on July 4th) Session 2 - July 10 - 21 ▢ Session 3 - July 24 - August 4 (All teachers assistants must participate in training in May and/or June. When feasible, all trainings will be held virtually) HOURS: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday PAY RATE: Teacher Aide (Return or Aide II) $19.00 Teacher Aide (New or Aide I) $18.00 CAMP TUITION DISCOUNT: Camp staff receive a discount off of Summer Camp enrollment fees for eligible children General Summary A full-time seasonal position reporting to the Summer Camp Director, the Teacher's Assistant works as a member of a classroom team consisting of the language immersion teacher, teacher's aide, and floating aide. The Teacher's Assistant is an integral part of the campers' day and the teacher's success. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting lead teachers in supervising campers in the classroom, on the playground, on field trips, and with specialist teachers; communicating with families and camp director; assisting with special events; and supporting the lead teacher by enforcing class rules, helping distribute materials, and assisting with teaching, when appropriate.
