Strategic Innovation Group (SIG) seeks a Paralegal Temp to support the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) review of comments for a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) regarding a ban on noncompete agreements on certain employees . This is a temporary forty (40) hours a week position lasting nine (9) weeks from the end of March through the end of May. The position may be eligible to become a full-time permanent position. $30-60/hour SIG is a fast growing 8(a) government contractor based in Arlington, Virginia. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: perform a preliminary screening of public comments; review public comments and code those comments into a database known as Relativity; separate comments into categories of specific issues and by relative importance; work quickly, efficiently, and in a professional manner; when asked, draft summaries related to their review work; answer questions related to their work; active participation in internal discussions; and address questions from other team members in a prompt and professional manner. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent work experience) Minimum 3 years office work experience (or equivalent educational experience) Strong verbal and written communication skills Highly developed analytical, research, and written and oral communication skills Ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative Ability to sustain and maintain a high degree of focus and attention to detail throughout the workday A well-organized self-starter and ability to work within a team is a must Software skills including MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Reader PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Experience using RelativityOne software J.D. degree Paralegal Degree or Certificate 3 or more years of paralegal experience SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SECURITY CLEARANCE Must be a U.S. citizen or have work authorization Vaccination requirements and testing are subject to the status of the federal contractor mandate and customer site requirements; testing is at the cost of the employee The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, drug free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable.
