Position Description: The Visual Merchandising Manager position plays a pivotal role in our customer experience. Through collaboration and execution this role will bring our products "to life" through visual mediums - primarily showrooms and photography. This position is responsible for designing and creating visual displays that support the customer experience and promote the business. Working with the Product Development, Sales and Marketing Teams to design and execute on-site showroom design to achieve designated objectives (e.g., showcase trends, traffic generation, revenue generation, etc.) Collaborate with the Product Development, Sales and Marketing Teams to create a merchandising plan for each showroom and execute that plan with the Showroom Set-Up Teams and Showroom Managers. Frequent travel is required. Approximately 15 weeks per year to Dallas, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Sioux Falls for showroom set-ups, content creation, and planning. Partner effectively with internal departments to orchestrate the production of displays and photo sets including building/construction, installation, and dismantling. Coordinate effectively with the team to procure product samples for each showroom and coordinate the transfer to each. Conceptualize new and innovative ideas for our visual presentation while always maintaining the Sullivans Brand vision. Create detailed merchandising plans (floor plans by category/line and overall flow of showrooms, etc.) for each new installation taking into consideration how to achieve goals ( g., showcase trends, highlight products and categories, traffic generation, and revenue generation) Guide and advise content coordinators and photographer on design and styles for photoshoots, editorials, and content-creation. Nurture and maintain positive relationships within showrooms; professionally represents the company as a knowledgeable and courteous resource. Creatively maximize available budgetary resources. Ability to work longer hours before market weeks. Positions Supervised: 3 Showroom Managers Freelance Stylists and Freelance Production Crew Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience: 7-10 years of similar work - e.g., visual merchandising, interior design. Showroom planning and merchandising experience in the Home Décor, Floral, Seasonal and Gift industries is a must. Working knowledge of the major markets and how they function and the demonstrable ability to work with contractors and mart personnel. Strong fashion and styling skills with the ability to work within multiple aesthetics and categories. Experienced at using Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or other visual design tools to create renders or presentations. Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated. Vendor Sourcing and Bidding. Fashion/Retail Trend Analysis. Budgeting and Forecasting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Physical Requirements: Office Environment - Ability to keep in motion for majority of work shift. Ability to lift heavy objects, push carts, and walk long distances on your own, without assistance. Able to travel to showroom locations, primarily within our showrooms and corporate office (DFW, ATL, Vegas, and Sioux Falls, SD) frequently. Flexibility and Collaboration: Must be able to accept feedback. Adapts to change in the work environment in ways that helps keep projects "on course." Team player who enjoys a collaborative work environment. Market Research: Research best practices within competitors and stay current on visual merchandising trends and the home décor industry and develop new creative visual ideas (adapting to trends). Sales: Work closely with internal teams to analyze business results and provide creative merchandising solutions using brand appropriate visual strategies to drive sales Self-Management: Engages in the effective use of self-assessment and self-management techniques to proactively and continuously improve own performance. Exhibits full responsibility for one's own work achievements and consistently maintains a high level of self-management that contributes to sustained high performance. Time Management: Able to work with minimal supervision and self-motivate. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Vision: Develops and implements the use of a strategic vision of the organization in the future.
