We are seeking Part-time Student Assistant TECH who will supervise the Photography & Graphic Design studios at SCC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Studio Assistants are to assist in watching over the Photography & Graphic Design studios during open studio hours, insuring it is a safe working environment. They are also responsible to make sure students are out of studio spaces after hours. Work closely with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) for opening and locking up studio spaces, and if any emergencies may occur. They will also help the Studio Technician or Faculty on day-to-day tasks such as helping with printers and checking out equipment in studios, or certain projects where needed. Examples may include: Clean-up, maintenance, organization, and inventory in studios. Set-up/prep & tear down/clean-up of studio environment transitions. Supervising studios to prevent damage and theft. Workflow and troubleshooting during open lab with studio equipment and computers (including printing, scanning, etc.) Check IN / OUT of equipment. Finishing for presentation such as dry mounting, matting, etc. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, use sound judgment, and remain flexible as demands and priorities change. Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population. Qualifications/Requirements: GED is required. Must be a St. Charles Community College Student this position is also available to students who qualify for the Federal Work Study Program. Photography & Graphic Design / Visual Arts majors are preferred, but not required. Being proficient in Apple computers and our specialized print system preferred.
