Job Description Job Title : IT Operations Technician Department : Information Systems Reports To : Manager of IT Operations Job Summary : The Operations Technician will be part of a team responsible for monitoring and maintaining our server and network environments. That team will also have responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance/administration of phone systems, audio/video conference rooms, asset management, procurement, logistics and daily reporting on systems status. Job Responsibilities include : Monitoring and maintenance of server environment, including hardware and key application services Monitoring of power and environmental status for server and network rooms Monitor and maintain audio/video equipment, and assist as needed with presentation support Monitoring and management of daily data back-ups Maintain and update knowledgebase, logs, manuals, room diagrams and inventories necessary for efficient IT operations Maintenance/Upgrade of power management equipment Adds/Moves/Changes of telecom equipment Assist with asset management and procurement of IT equipment, including development of a spares inventory Assist Desktop Support group with routine maintenance of fax machines, PC's, laptops, etc., when necessary Assist with small project planning and logistics Daily status reporting Occasional off-hours work necessary Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above. Requirements : Education - Associates degree in related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience Experience - Two years technical experience required; previous IT Operations/Desktop support experience a plus.
