The Sr. Plant Accountant assists the Operations Controller and finance department in ensuring the Plant has appropriate processes in place to control costs and provide good, sound financial controls. Located in Rhome, TX, the Senior Accountant is responsible for serving as a support to the site in ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This role reports to the Operations Controller onsite with possible hybrid flexibility to work 1-2 days a week from home once the initial training period has concluded. Key Responsibilities Work to understand plant manufacturing process and quality variables that impact the manufacturing process, variance analysis forecasting, and actual performance reporting to Plant and executive leadership Coordinate with department managers on overhead spending control, assist with business analysis projects Assist with month-end close activities including the preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, and review and critiquing of assorted analyses and reports Perform transaction recording, maintenance, and review of inventory activity daily, along with a reconciliation of value and quantities at month-end Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents; verify and analyze business records, transactions, and procedures as necessary and appropriate Review monthly balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with a resolution to reconciling items Assist with and participate in all accounting efforts in the integration of new business units and newly acquired companies Support the shared value of Together We Can by cross-training as a backup in other Operational Finance duties Take charge of special projects and lead fellow associates to desired result To work in accordance with all policies about health and safety Other tasks as assigned Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Experience in a plant or manufacturing environment 3-5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance related fields Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with ERP systems and knowledge of the interaction between various modules within an ERP system Highly Desirable CPA or CMA Preferred Working knowledge of Sage Intacct ERP and/or COGNOS financial reporting and business intelligence. The targeted salary will be based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
