Job Summary : This position is based out of our Iron River office and responsible for expanding the company's book of business by selling various types of personal and commercial insurance policies to new and existing clients. The ability to foster mutually beneficial relationships, over the phone and outside of the office, with Centers of Influence to also drive potential clients to you. An Account Executive has the goal to serve as a solution provider for our clients. That means thoroughly understanding the risks they face (even those they may be unaware of) so that we can develop a plan to help protect them. We represent a premier group of insurance companies which enables you to provide multiple solutions for your clients to meet their insurance needs at a competitive price. You will retain current clients by proactively recognizing client needs and providing advanced solutions. We will help coach an Account Executive and expect you to successfully accomplish: Prospect ing and generat ing new business opportunities through leads & referral sources Meeting new business production goals and objectives as established B uild ing strong relationships with potential clients and delivering results to our clients Maintaining knowledge of existing and new insurance products Performing a variety of lead generating activities such as business expos, phone calls, and networking events Developing and presenting solutions based on client needs - successfully close sales Success in an insurance sales position may look different for each individual. For a new Account Executive, we see benchmarks of success at: Six (6) Months A thorough understanding of the tools available and working within our team Have a steady 'flow' of prospects into your pipeline Establish networking opportunities and niche markets you'll work in Successfully onboarding clients within the community or niche Continue to enhance and learn new sales strategies, techniques, and insurance knowledge Twelve (12) Months Continued cultivating relationships within the community and niche industries Build upon a book of business that includes residual (renewal) income from client retention Set goals for the next 12 months to build on first year of success Continue to enhance and learn new sales strategies and continuing education to practice your craft Twenty-Four (24) Months You should have a book of business that supports your desired income and allows all new sales to serve as salary growth Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in your niche industries Establish yourself as a leader on the team, in the community and within the industry Maintain a health work-life balance Environment We are a 3rd generation agency that believes strongly in family and relationships. We have physical offices locations that vary in size and staff. Many satellite locations feature 1-3 individuals. That means that you may have times that you're working alone in the office but always connected via phone or video to the team. Job Requirements Property & Casualty license is required Previous commercial lines insurance experience preferred Possess a genuine willingness to learn Be intuitive, resourceful, and coachable Possess an upbeat, enthusiastic attitude Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confident, self-starter who works well independently Career-minded vision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize and multitask Ability to work 40 hours per week At Top O' Michigan Insurance, we want you to achieve an even work-life balance.
