Position Overview: Provides patient education, nursing intervention, and delegated medical functions for Nurse Midwife Services. Acts as resource for non-licensed personnel. Reports to Nurse Midwife Services Manager. Essential Functions : a) Performs indicated nursing assessments on OB and GYN patients. b) Collects lab specimens and performs CLIA approved labs. c) Recognizes deviations from normal health status. d) Provides age-appropriate and culturally sensitive patient education. e) Applies and interprets fetal monitoring. f) Manages pap program. g) Manages return contraception visits. h) Supports hospital, departmental, and own professional development. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity. Qualifications & Skills: a) Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program. Current Colorado RN license or Compact State license. b) Training & Experience: Two years of OB-GYN experience preferred. Ambulatory clinic and phlebotomy experience helpful. BCLS required. c) Job Knowledge: Able to make nursing assessments; critical thinking skills; attention to detail; good interpersonal communication skills and teaching ability. Knowledge of obstetric and gynecological procedures preferred. Spanish speaking strongly preferred; basic Spanish language skills essential. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
