Exempt/Non-exempt Non-exempt Status Full Time The City of Saint Charles Human Resources Department is currently recruiting for the position of Building Maintenance Worker II with the Public Works Department . The purpose of this position is to perform routine maintenance and manual labor related to cleaning city facilities and buildings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned . Daily custodial duties include open City Hall; Clean and maintain City facilities and restrooms; prepare conference rooms; Inspect building equipment systems such as heating and air conditioning units; Report irregularities; Paint and repair walls; Collect parking garage revenue. Operate a variety of maintenance equipment and power tools. Mow and maintain landscaping at City Hall and all city facilities; Plow, salt and shovel snow as directed for sidewalks and roadways at City facilities including parking lots. Assist with annual surplus sale and all City festivals and special events. Assist Maintenance Mechanic with electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs. Replace light bulbs, install receptacles, light switches and lighting ballast with oversight from Maintenance Mechanic. Assist Administrative staff as needed. Mandatory attendance and participation in: rotating on-call schedule, assigned overtime, civil emergencies, severe weather events including flooding and snow removal operations, special events, and call-outs. Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions High school diploma or G.E.D. Knowledge of hand tools and of maintenance needs of public building facilities. Knowledge of and experience in building custodial work.
