Description:
We are seeking a Commercial Service Apprentice to join our team in Longwood, FL! This position will work with customers on everything from new construction jobs, startups, and existing facility retrofits to preventative maintenance and service calls. How are you successful in this role? Must have the ability to a ssist Journeymen with performing preventative maintenance, inspections, startups and upgrades, quoted work, repairs and service requests. Follow directions provided by Service Manager and/or Journeymen, take notes, always inquire about processes and techniques being performed. Part of the training is asking plenty of questions. Learn to diagnose and repair units by using software and technology, a variety of hand-tools, and following work orders and engineering specifications. Continually follow and enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued tools and resources. Attend union required training classes, always be prepared for the tasks that are given and focus on performing the tasks prior to being asked. Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime as the business requires. Perform deliveries, various shop duties and tasks associated with a helper. What are we looking for? High School Diploma or equivalent and some HVAC experience, or the equivalent combination of education (technical school) and experience is a plus. Must follow union qualification process for Pre-Apprentices standing. EPA CFC certification a plus. 10-hour OSHA certification and or 30-hour OSHA is a plus. Basic Knowledge of HVAC&R theory, mechanical, electrical troubleshooting and repair is a plus. Ability to read wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts and blueprints a plus. Experience installing clean, dry refrigeration piping systems and associated practices is a plus. Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld devices, such as Smartphones, iPads, etc. Travel required. Valid driver's license. Who are we?
