We're looking for Substitute Teachers who are passionate about stepping in and inspiring young students to love learning and are looking for an opportunity to experience the Montessori education field! All substitute teachers will be given some training on our learning philosophies and will be provided with lesson plans to implement for the classroom they are in on each given day. Consideration will be given to those who are excited and ready to learn more about Montessori as a route for their education career. They will have the opportunity to become part of a school community where support and celebration for internal growth and promotion is valued. Responsibilities Implementing lesson plans and curriculum provided by the absent Montessori Teacher. Present lessons in a comprehensive manner Provide individualized instruction to each student. Maintaining the upkeep of classrooms and equipment inside and outside. Assisting children when necessary, regarding dressing, toileting and/or diapering needs, and making sure all children have clean hands, face, and diapers. Maintaining positive relationships with and practicing open and honest communication with parents and co-workers Consistently interacting in a positive developmentally appropriate way with the children; role modeling appropriate behavior and language for children. Develop professional skills and knowledge. Skills Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills Well-organized and committed. Creative and energetic Strong moral values and discipline Knowledge of First aid and CPR, willing to train. Major in teaching or education preferred. Prior experience with children preferred. Physical Requirements The Substitute Teacher must be able to work and keep up with young children. The Substitute Teacher must be able to stand for long periods of time; they must have the capability to both see and hear the children. The Substitute Teach may be expected to lift up to 50 pounds. Schedule Substitute Teachers may provide their availability during their interview / hiring process.
