As individuals we are great, and together we are even better so come help us make a difference as we are currently seeking a full-time Engineering Technician for the Summer of 2023 to join our Geotechnical Services team in Charleston, South Carolina. Position responsibilities include coordination of field explorations, field/laboratory logging of soil and rock samples, performing engineering calculations/design, and preparation of basic proposals and reports. In addition, candidate could observe proofroll/undercut, pile installation and other construction related activities as well as geotechnical field testing such as dynamic cone penetrometer testing, observing test pits, and assisting in geophysical and pavement testing activities. Position will work under supervision of an in-office Licensed Engineer. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and possess the ability to work as a team player. Qualifications: Enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's program in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or related degree program, required; Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs.; Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate); Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability to learn commercial software applications required; Ability to work and maneuver equipment (such as a wheelbarrow) on uneven ground; Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for short duration assignments; At least 18 years of age.
