Assistant Professor, Art and Graphic Design The Coker University McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts seeks applicants with professional experience in graphic design or a related field to apply to join the Art program as a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory to advanced studio courses in graphic design, typography, interaction design, professional practice, and/or design history. Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, interactive technology, UX/UI, and/or branding is ideal. The Art Program is NASAD-accredited, offering B.A. and B.F.A degree options. The B.A. is in Art with concentrations in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography, and Art Education. The B.F.A. degree is in Studio Art. Majors are encouraged to explore a variety of courses within the program and make interdisciplinary connections. A passion for teaching, and dedication to developing meaningful, working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across campus are important for this position. Candidates should be eager to contribute their interests and ideas for courses and help build connections with other programs. This position requires an active role in recruiting and advising majors and minors. The ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching all levels of undergraduate students, including majors and non-majors. Opportunities to teach study away and study abroad courses are also available. Willingness to assist with maintaining the Mac Lab, teach stacked courses, and teach foundational courses is desired. Required Qualifications Applicants must have a terminal degree (MFA, MDes, or equivalent) in graphic design, visual communication, interaction design, or a related field. The successful candidate will have an active record of professional design experience and/or design research. Prior experience teaching college-level courses in design is a plus.
