The Tool Maker Intern will learn from experienced tool makers to perform machining operations and bench work. They will assist tool makers to construct, repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, and other duties as assigned. What you will get to do: Working from parts, prints or sketches and verbal instructions, organize and determine work procedures and sequences. Perform customary machining operations referring to supervisor and or tool makers for assistance with particularly difficult setups or unusual operations. Set up and operate a variety of machines, including, lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders. Use hand tools and measuring instruments. Perform bench operations involving project planning and final assembly of material. Perform rework on worn or damaged parts. Work with supervisor to resolve problems that arise in various departments with machines, dies, tools, etc. Use floor jacks, die lifts, hoist and fork truck to move materials. Responsible for keeping work area neat and orderly. Perform other related duties as assigned or needed. What you'll bring to the role: Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an accredited Vo-Tech program in tool and die making or similar program. Must be within a year or less of graduation date.
