Description:
NIRA, Inc. is looking for a Senior Software Architect to support the evolvement and governance of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)'s information dissemination infrastructure for the national airspace system (NAS). In particular, you work closely with the federal Project Lead as FAA embraces new technologies and practices such as DevSecOps, API management, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). You will also collaborate with international aviation partners and civil aviation organizations to enable secure exchange of information between Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP), especially in the areas of service description and service discoverability.Key responsibilities include: Developing technology roadmaps and recommending technical approaches for adoption of new technologies and best software development practices such as DevSecOps and API management. Developing and reviewing artifacts such as Concept of Operations, Program Requirement Document, Shortfall or Gap analysis to support procurement of IT systems. Developing technical approaches for service discoverability and interoperability. Developing service and interface specifications using standards such as JSON and OpenAPI. Supporting development of SOA governance policies, standards and procedures. Coordinating activities between partners including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Developing white papers, demonstrations, and presentations on technology subjects. Key Requirements: B.S. in Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related field; Over 16 years of experiences with Information Technology (IT); Knowledge and experiences with middleware platforms or enterprise application integration approaches, especially using messaging, or web services, or API. Excellent oral and written communication skills Desired Experiences: Experiences supporting major federal acquisition programs, especially previous experiences supporting the FAA Knowledge and experiences with SOA and IT governance practices; Knowledge and experiences with service metadata standards such as WSDL and OpenAPI; Experience coordinating inter-agency or inter-organizational activities.
