POSITION DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW Title : Director of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Reports To : CEO/Executive Director Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm, Daytime Flexible Compensation : 90K - 110K; DOE Job Classification : Salary/Exempt Union Representation : This position is not a union represented position The Director of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion develops, implements, and monitors programs that promote diversity, equity and inclusion and works to improve processes and policies, manage Human Resource staff, and lead long term organizational planning. Duties for the Director of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will include guiding operating methods, assisting with monitoring budgets, improving information systems, overseeing human resources requirements, updating senior executives, and developing operating procedures and policies. PRIMARY DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS Administration/Management  Collaborates with all management staff to identify and deliver the required administrative support operations for the organization. Oversees the Human Resources Department by developing, maintaining and implementing systems, programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization. Monitors budget for Human Resources department. Oversees employee related compensation, benefits and training programs. Leads, supports and develops Human Resources team. Oversees employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.  Maintains the organizations personnel policies and procedures manual. Manage and develop the human resources staff to promote their growth and success. Prepare all information requested or required for compliance with laws. Submit after approval of Executive Director. Serves as a member of the organization's key administrative decision-making and planning body. Collaborates with other management staff to draft and implement an annual administrative budget. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion   Reviews current processes and policies to determine if they support diversity and inclusion work. Develops new diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategies. Implements established diversity and inclusion programs. Evaluates diversity initiatives by tracking metrics for the programs. Creates diversity training programs for employees.  Works with hiring managers to improve diversity throughout the recruiting and hiring process. Stays informed on diversity best practices and trends. Organizational Development    Assists with carrying out a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.  Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction survey, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.  Help monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.  Planning and Community Organizing   Uses good judgment and maintains boundaries when sharing information about the company with other providers and members of the community.  Attends various community meetings and reports relevant information to the Executive Director. Participates in community needs assessment.  Be available to offer leadership and cooperation to consumers and community providers in the development of cost-effective services.  Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field  Five (5) years of experience in HR administration, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. We value lived experience with homelessness or programs that inform the work of the organization. Experience managing payroll and benefit systems.  Experience working with union contracts preferred  Thorough understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, the office equipment, recordkeeping systems, management information systems, and related protocols used in the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional and tactful interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Must be able to sit at a desk and computer for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must have a valid MN Driver's license.  Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.  Must possess basic computer skills.  Demonstrated ability to handle frustrated and demanding participants in a calm, appropriate, and professional manner Strong communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and meet deadlines Strong organizational skills and attention to details Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information Proficient using MS office tools (excel, outlook, etc.) Must be able to pass a background check. AGENCY COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS Agate Housing and Services maintains a COVID-19 preparedness plan that mitigates the transmission and spread of COVID-19. Programs also maintain practices to ensure the safety of staff, clients, residents, and community members.
