Job Summary: The Program Director (PD), under the direction of the CEO, provides a general oversight of the organization's dailybusiness activities from intake coordination, clinical and program management, revenue growth and budgetmanagement control, as well as coordinating the general operations of the AWMS operations.The PD will engage in multiple and various tasks encompassing the core areas of quality assurance, quality improvement,and management/leadership. Will coordinate and manage the day to day activities at the AWMS program making surethe treatment program complies with Apex, State, and County protocols, policies and procedures.The PD will be responsible for the implementation of protocols in line for best practice, quality assurance, and qualityimprovement for all clinical programs based on The Joint Commission Accreditation. Constantly evaluates organizationalefficiency and makes necessary changes to maximize staff productivity, always looking to efficiently reduce operationalcosts.The PD will contribute in the planning, development, implementation and coordination of agency-wide policies andprograms and will assess the needs of the organization and find ways to contribute by ensuring the daily operations runsmoothly and as efficiently as possible.The PD will be responsible for managing its resources, developing, and implementing an operational plan and ensuringthat policies and procedures are carried out properly.The Program Director for AWMS's principal function is to lead a team of compassionate clinical staff to care forindividuals suffering from addiction and/or co-occurring disorders. The Program Director of AWMS oversees, assigns,coordinates, and assists the clinical team in providing empirically based counseling services to AWMS clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ● Oversees the operation of Apex Recovery AWMS program and its assigned personnel.● Reviews, monitors and audits program data collection, medical charts in electronic medical record systems.● Prepares monthly work schedule in advance for AWMS staff.● Coordinates directly with the Office Manager regarding purchases of supplies and equipment.● Enforces disciplinary actions with AWMS staff when needed and/or instructed.● Performs staff performance reviews when needed and/or instructed.● Responds to emergency calls when necessary.● Take actions to resolve any urgent issues.● Ensure all staff are fully trained and are executing their duties effectively, in a timely fashion, always meeting theorganization's goals.● Participate in interviews with potential new hires in coordination with the human resource department.● Ensure that all staff follow a strict chain of command in all written and verbal communication.● Ensure that any incidents are properly handled in accordance with the company's policy.● Develops, implements, and maintains written maintenance policies, and procedures, objectives or activities oforganizations or businesses to ensure continuing operations to maximize returns on investment and increaseproductivity.● Ensures duties are completed in accordance with The Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, the StateDepartment of Public Health, policies and procedures, and QAPI Standards.● Conducts an annual assessment of facility to identify needed improvements and repairs. Assures that outsideservices are properly completed and supervised in accordance with contracts ensuring that all contractorscomply with and follow the expectations of contracted services. Scheduling of required major equipmentpurchases, remodeling, and special projects as assigned.● Oversight of Purchases purchasing of equipment and supplies as necessary or as may be required by thedepartment.● Reviews billing from contractor/vendors for accuracy.● Ensures safety of all patients, visitors, and staff.● Maintain an exceptional level of customer service; address and resolve complaints; serve as an example byproviding excellent service to internal and external customers, employees and clients.● Collaborates with the Human Resources Department on updating job descriptions, establishing staffingratios, support hiring of qualified employees and ensuring annual reviews are completed on a timely manner.● Helps identify staff's training needs and in response , plans, develops and/or conducts training towardsmaintaining and improving staff competencies and compliance with Organizations policies and procedures.● Ensure that all program staff uphold the organization's code of conduct/code of ethics and comply with allfederal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA privacy and security regulations.● Informs the executive team of all activities and significant conditions which may impact facility operations andclient care.● Monitor and ensure that staff take their meal break and rest breaks as mandated by the labor law.● Monitor that AWMS staff inputs their daily time card correctly and that work shift is accurately recorded in thetime keeping system on a daily basis.● Resolve any staff issue related to timecards, meal break and time recording in the time keeping system within 24hrs after occurrence.● Ensures that every two weeks the timecards for staff are ready to be processed by human resources.● Coordinates the proper coverage of all shifts and ensures finding proper replacement if a staff member calls out.● Promotes a respectful, positive and enjoyable work environment.● Accept feedback and apply requested changes from the immediate supervisor.● Implement all The Joint Commission's standards of environmental care.● Take emergency calls as needed.● Other duties as assigned.● Participates in the recruitment and retention of professional and nonprofessional staff● Responsible for conducting employee performance evaluations in a timely manner; addressing and resolvingemployee related issues; coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff in accordance with the HR policies Education and/or Work Experience Requirement: Minimum Qualifications:● Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, sociology, counseling or ina related field.● Current certification as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADCII)● Registered as a licensed or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, orAssociate Clinical Social Worker through California Board of Behavioral Sciences.● The candidate must have experience in Management of programs and professional staff.● Minimum one year supervisory/management experience, with two years' progressive experience working withadults who suffer from substance abuse disorders or mental health.● Maintain valid CPR/First Aid Certification.● Valid California driver's license with current, valid California automobile insurance and a driving record of 3 orfewer points.
