Position Details Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed professional. This includes: assisting the patient with personal hygiene (bathing, oral) and elimination, eating and hydration, ADL's (dressing, grooming), ambulation, turning positioning, patient transportation, and promptly responding to patient call lights. Contributes to the assessment of the patient status by observing, collecting, and reporting data, promptly reports pertinent changes to the licensed professional. Contributing to a safe and orderly patient care and work environment by following procedures for: cleaning all used patient equipment, caring for patients with restraints, and cleaning the kitchenette, utility and storage rooms; will stock supplies, as needed, and keep patient room neat. Contributes to effective patient care and teamwork through effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, co-workers and other departments; communicating information through appropriate channels; growing in knowledge of basic medical terminology; receiving and conveying messages. Is a productive member of the team and completes assigned duties with minimal direct supervision. Answer hospital switchboard; screen and refer calls; receive and direct the general public to appropriate place or department personnel Monitor various onsite alarms for the hospital. Functions as an admissions/discharge clerk by preparing admission forms and fulfilling record keeping procedures from, when possible, direct interviews with patients, or other information finding mechanisms available. What Y ou Offer The nursing assistant must be a certified Nursing Assistant by the State of Minnesota Must be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing; have good interpersonal skills Must be able to complete the general Perham Health orientation and the NA/R acute care orientation Must be able to work as a contributing team member Must have the aptitude to learn how to operate the assigned patient care equipment safely and effectively.
