Structural Component Systems, Inc. of Fremont, NE is actively seeking an entry-level or experienced self-motivated full-time Truss and I-Joist Estimator to provide accurate estimation of roof and floor truss components and I-Joists needed in single-family, multi-family, commercial and agricultural projects, according to engineered and designed plans. Works under general to little supervision; exercises judgment on work priority on a regular basis. This salaried position earns a competitive wage based on experience in truss and I-Joist wood component estimating and can work out of one of our offices in Grimes, IA, Fremont or Omaha, NE OR may work remote out of your home anywhere in the USA. Prepare bid & reference information utilizing MiTek, and other design related software. Job Duties Broad knowledge of building materials and willingness to learn new products. Prepare bid & reference information utilizing MiTek, and other design related software. Optimize designs for accurate costing. Review takeoffs and calculations for accuracy. Assist sales with clear information presentation Broad knowledge of roof and floor system building materials and willingness to learn new products. Communicate effectively with all organizational levels and customer representatives. Provide problem solving solutions using Building Codes and product information. Prepare detailed construction proposals from customer blueprints for customer presentation. Assist in training and development of other estimators as required. Minimum high school graduate. Preferred bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Requirements - Two or more years TRUSS ESTIMATING experience if wishing to work remote. Entry level candidates must have completed a two year drafting/design degree or similar degree and work out of one of our offices in Fremont, Omaha or Urbandale. Experience in MiTek software preferred/ required if working remote. Minimum high school graduate. Preferred two year or bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent. Experience in construction industry, i.e. framing, etc. Ability to read and understand blue prints. Strong math skills. Ability to use a computer terminal, and proficiency of the use of MiTek and other business / design related software. Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public. Ability to communicate effectively with others, including customers, peers and management. Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, to be mobile in the work environment, and work hours mandated by management. Self-managing, works well under little supervision.
