MWRA Senior Engineer Chelsea, MA The MWRA is looking for a Senior Engineer who rovides engineering support for Operations activities, including implementing operational changes that have service impact, emergency response, maintenance planning, in-house design and construction activities, and start-up of new/rehabilitated facilities. Acts as liaison to design and construction projects. The work includes u nder the direction of the Senior Program Manager and Program Manager, preparing Operations Plans for operations and maintenance activities that have potential to impact water and wastewater service. Working with Engineering and Construction staff as needed and operations and maintenance staff to develop plan steps and constraints. Working with GIS staff to develop mapping and detail notes. Coordinating review and execution of plans. E xecuting Operations Plans including directing planned activities and monitoring for potential service impacts. Analyzes distribution or collection system problems including hydraulic modeling. Analyzes planned or emergency shutdowns/bypasses to identify service impacts. Acts as liaison to selected Capital Improvement Projects, including participating in preliminary design, coordinating design reviews, reviewing construction submittals, coordinating necessary Operations support actions (e.g. valve operations, disinfection), coordinating start-up activities, coordinating turn-over packages, warranties, record submittals, 1080 form maintenance submittals and other Operations requirements. The position requires a 4 year degree in mechanical, civil, sanitary or environmental engineering or a related field; and 4 to 6 years of experience with design, maintenance and/or operations of mechanical equipment associated with waterworks or wastewater systems or with manufacturing facilities; or a ny equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be available for overnight planned operations and 24/7 emergency response. Must have a valid Class D driver's license. A valid Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Operators License and/or Grade II Distribution Operators License preferred. Salary: $1,496.30 - $2,076.23 weekly *Eligible for telework up to 50% of the work week; a waiting period may apply.
