Job Description: Mister Kleen is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the team in our Alexandria headquarters' office. The successful candidate will oversee the Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Sales & Marketing, IT Services, and Office Administration functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing an environment in which employees adhere to our corporate values in the execution of their job functions and responsibilities. The COO ensures the company's organizational structure, policies, operations, and people enable the company to maximize financial results. The ideal candidate will have COO experience in a mid- to large, service-related business and be a strategic, thoughtful leader with the ability to get things done through others. The candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, organization, and problem-solving skills. The position reports directly to the President. Responsibilities: The candidate must: Oversee, direct, and review all key business activities to ensure team members meet commitments and deadlines, all policies and procedures are being followed, company assets are protected, and financial reporting is accurate Develop and implement operational and sales strategy, aligning processes and people to drive business growth and overall excellence Communicate financial, operational, and sales reporting to President monthly; communicate regularly with team leaders to ensure company and departmental goals are achieved Review and negotiate all corporate contracts including insurances and union agreements; oversee client bid/proposal processes and contract reviews Manage and motivate the team to achieve full personal potential, drive new sales, maximize existing business opportunities, and achieve superior customer satisfaction through thoughtful, goal-driven leadership' Monitor and measure operational results working closely with the team to ensure excellent service delivery; review client request, customer feedback and proactively identify and rectify potential problem Oversee and actively participate in the execution of corporate financial goals, budgeting, fiscal planning, compensation, benefits, etc. Support HR in establishing and requiring adherence to all corporate policies, monitor and ensure best-in-class recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluation, and employee recognition Ensure the company is operated ethically and maintains its standing and position in the industry and community Requirements: The candidate will: Have 20 years' management experience with 10 years' progressively responsible senior management positions; janitorial or related service industry experience strongly preferred Hold a BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, or related Field; MBA preferred Have proven ability to drive business results by effectively managing Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and Accounting & Finance in a $25-50M business; experience working in family-owned businesses helpful Be a result oriented, strategic leader with the ability to build a winning team Have experience managing various levels of employees with different educational backgrounds, work style habits, and employment histories Be a strong negotiator with experience in government contracting, union relations and collective bargaining, insurance renewals, and other contract review and negotiation Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, superior written and verbal communication, and conflict resolution skills Have superior organization skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities, schedule, and establish and follow up on deadlines Be driven for and by success with a strong sense of urgency and a "get the job done" attitude Demonstrate the highest level of honesty and integrity and strong company loyalty Have technology and computer proficiency with the ability to manage outsourced IT and other software providers; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel Compensation and Benefits: Very competitive base salary and bonus program Comprehensive, no deductible medical insurance options with low employee premiums and out-of-pocket costs Comprehensive dental and vision insurance 100% Company-paid disability and life insurance 401(k) with Company match Generous PTO entitlement Job Posted by ApplicantPro
