Pharmaron Manufacturing Services has an opening for a Senior Process Safety Engineer: The Sr. Process Safety Engineer in the Pharmaron Coventry Manufacturing Technology Team has the overall responsibility for the Pharmaron Coventry Process Safety Program. The role will foster a team-based environment ensuring that all affected groups have the appropriate level of input into process design and improvement initiatives to ensure a high degree of safety of all processes before they transferred to operations. They will maintain the highest manufacturing standards in safety, health, and the protection of the environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. This Position is Responsible For :Support existing processes and technical transfer of new processes from concept through product delivery, including Manage process safety concerns with accountability for PSM implementation. Perform process safety assessments and make design recommendations to mitigate process safety risks. Review and approve process related SOP's, NSOP's, and Batch records. Review process and equipment change controls. Coordinate process safety testing such as thermal hazards analyses, combustible dust explosivity testing as well as advanced process safety analytical techniques using Pharmaron process safety services and/or contracted services as appropriate. Perform process hazards analyses. Attend pre-start-up safety reviews to ensure all process safety concerns have been adequately addressed and that equipment and processes are ready for operations. Participate in team safety committee meetings. Provide Process Engineering support as required. Perform project management activities as required. Provide leadership and direct the work of other Pharmaron Coventry employees, contractors, and custom manufacturers to achieve the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance. Maintain compliance with cGMP's, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies. Educational Requirements/Skills: 7+ years of work-related experience in manufacturing, engineering or project management associated with pharmaceutical ingredients or chemicals. Batch manufacturing experience with a wide variety of unit operations and related equipment. Working knowledge of Process Safety Assessments for batch chemical manufacturing processes. Subject matter expert regarding the OSHA Process Safety Management Standard and other relevant codes and regulations.
