General Summary A Fireproofer Foreman is the senior craft person responsible for performing fireproofing work. This position is responsible for performing and directing the work of a fireproofing crew. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Perform pre-job safety planning (Job Hazard Analysis) for each work task and ensure that employees adhere to all safety rules Conduct crew meetings and assist in conducting toolbox meetings Ensure employees are following all GCI's, Contractor's, and governmental safety requirements Understand scope of contract and change order process Ensure that no out-of-scope work is performed without approved change order Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Contractor Specifications Ensure accurate loading, unloading and storage of assigned materials and equipment Assure that all equipment on the job site is in safe and efficient working condition Responsible for proper use and care for all GCI and Client facilities and equipment Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) (including inspection and documentation) of the work Request equipment and supplies as needed and ensure that the proper equipment is being used for the specified tasks Estimate material and worker requirements to complete the job Assign work to employees Ensure up-to-date, accurate time records, and ensures that man-hours, materials, and quantities are properly reported Analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures. Ensure workers are proficient in understanding GCI best practices Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to increase efficiency and safety Travel as required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Able to effectively communicate with employees and supervision Ability to work independently or as part of a team Ability to read and understand specifications, such as blueprints, to determine requirements Ability to apply SFRM per manufacturers' recommendations preferred. Ability to read and write and interpret spray charts. Must be able to understand oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams. Ability to work from scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolds. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures. Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel often in confined spaces. Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, and shop locations. Utilize necessary Personal Protective Equipment Must have lace-up steel-toed boots Qualifications Education & Experience: • 3+ years' experience in craft; or • 2+ years' craft experience and supervisory experience • High School Diploma or GED preferred Gulf Coast Industrial offers a full range of benefits including: a generous vacation plan, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401K (100% match up to 4% eligible compensation), life insurance, short- & long-term disability.
