To learn more, please visit www.cs-mfg.com Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Product Engineer must be familiar with all phases of the product life cycle; conceptual design, development, prototyping, testing, commercial production, production support, quality support, continuous improvement, and end of life phase out. The Product Engineer is required to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Responsibilities: Carry out process improvement and problem resolution. Continuously improve product and manufacturing processes with respect to quality, safety, efficiency, and cost-reduction. Prepare and present plans for the above and coordinate deployment. Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Design, develop and test various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Coordinate PPAP events. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Visual Instruction Aids (VIA's). Train employees on processes, equipment, and systems. Institute principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma. Utilize Project Management tools to actively plan and manage projects. Generate and maintain all Item Masters, BOM's, and Routings. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering 4+ years' experience as a Product Engineer Detail Oriented Proven experience in Lean/Six Sigma Mechanically inclined with technical knowledge and hands on ability Problem Solving/Analytical thought process Project Management/Scheduling Ability to clearly communicate via oral and written communication Must be autonomous and have the ability to work through issues to come up with a well thought out approach and execute it Must have the ability to provide leadership to facilitate getting work done through multiple groups.
