Becketwood Cooperative Job Descri ption Posi tion: Business Administrator Reports to: Executive Manager Summary o f Posi tio n : Responsible for administering the Cooperative's financ i a l , account i n g , accounts payabl e, tax, audi t, payroll, and human resources functions. The Business Administrator works with and consu l ts the Execut i ve Manager on all functions but i s expected to work i ndependently and take i ni ti ati ve on all acti viti es. The Business Adm i n i strator also assists the Finance and Investment Committees. NOTE: This posi ti on can work remotely some of the time. This can be coordinated with the Executive Manager. Responsibilities and d uties: Manages the account i ng funct i ons for the Cooperat ive Respons i bilit i es i nclude, but are not limited to: Ma i ntain Cooperat i ve bank i n g , chec k ing and i nvestment Monthly bill i n g s, and i nd i v i dual charges, to Members. Maintain records for vari ous Committee funds. Prepare monthly financial reports and statements. Prepare annual budget with the Executi ve Manager. Maintai ns copies of all contracts. Manage accounts payable functions. Manage the staff payroll acti viti es for the Becketwood staff with outside vendor. Assist employees with and maintain employee benefit program, employee records. Assist Executive Manager with Human Resources. Support and meet w i th the Finance and I nvestment Comm i ttees and prepare agendas, i nformat i on packets, and ma i nta i n meet i ng m inutes. At the d i rect i on of those comm i ttees, and after the Board of Di rector's approval, complete approved financial transactions. Coord i nate the i ndependent aud i tor's complet i on of the annual tax return and aud i t by scheduling meet i ngs and prepar i ng required documents. Prepare and report all 1099 and 1096 tax forms. Coordinate and prepare Cooperative and Member property tax payments. Work i n a cooperative and respectful manner with other staff members. Relationships: 1. Rep orts to the Exec utive Manager 2. Works with the chair of the finance and investment committees and takes minutes for those meetings. 3. Responds to member billing and account inquiries. 4. Works with members of various committees and maintains financial records for those committees. 5. Works closely with other staff members. Qualificati o ns ยท : M i n i mum of 2 years financial account i ng exper ience College de g ree; account i ng or bus i ness major Exper i ence i n lieu of a degree will be considered. Experience i n Senior Housing Finances preferred but not required. Demonstrated abilit i es for problem solv i n g , wor k ing i ndependentl y , sta y ing organ i zed, meeting dead l i nes, and paying attent i on to details. Good oral and written communicat i on skills with an ability to work well with people. Skilled w i th us i ng curre n t financial and business software. Exper i ence and proficiency w i th " PC" computers, and software programs i nclud i ng Microsoft Excel Word, and Dynamics. Authori ze and pass a criminal history background check Physical requirements of the posi ti on are: Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Abil i ty to rema i n i n a stationary pos i t i on 80 percent of the t i me. The person i n th i s pos i t i on needs to occas i onally move about i nside the office to access fil i ng cab i nets and offi ce machinery.
