Note: We are currently filling one opening that could be based out of various Beacon offices in northern Indiana with available office space. We will also strongly consider a hybrid or exclusive telecommute arrangement as deemed appropriate. The employee must be willing to travel and be in person for training, meetings etc. at the supervisor's discretion. Role Responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program. Major Duties and Responsibilities Investigates unusual or suspicious activity identified by the monitoring software of the Compliance Department or referred by other departments and determines whether the filing of a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) is warranted and completes the required reports for filing of SARs. Performs various quality control reviews and monitoring in the area of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, OFAC, Customer Identification Program, and Customer Due Diligence compliance using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods. Monitors changes in laws, regulations, and trends. Maintains files and shares information with the appropriate departments. Manages the Credit Union's BSA Compliance Program. Monitors compliance with BSA rules and regulations. Assists in the development and implementation of the BSA training program for all staff. Reviews reports associated with BSA. Investigates cases produced by BSA software and decides on further action if appropriate. Identifies suspicious activity ("Red Flags") in the review process. Reviews documentation for certain high risk accounts. Collects information from other outside sources to help in determining if further action/investigation is required. Advises the Credit Union's Compliance Manager, Senior Management, and personnel of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the Credit Union in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks. Analyzes complex situations and provides guidance, and escalates issues to appropriate levels of management. Performs other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications Three to five years of similar or related experience Four-year college degree or proven abilities through prior experience Ability to work well independently and with little or no supervision Ability to motivate or influence others and obtain cooperation (internally and/or externally) Good communication skills Must be extremely detail-oriented Must have the ability to think both critically and at a high level Standard position hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Available Benefits Include: - Health, dental and vision insurance - Paid time off - 401(k) match - Incentive/bonus program - Tuition reimbursement - and more!
