Zoning Officer/Assistant Code Enforcement Officer Job Type : Full-Time Salary: Exempt, Based on Experience Department: Engineering Location: 4975 DeMoss Road Deadline to apply : Until Filled Position Summary: Exeter Township is seeking an experienced, reliable individual to be Zoning Officer, Assistant Code Enforcement Officer and liaison between engineering and all other departments and outside agencies, including the Consulting Engineering firm and Solicitor. This employee is responsible for enforcing the Health and Safety, Zoning and Property Maintenance Ordinances (Codes) of the Township. General Duties : Subdivision/Land Development Plan Process to include but not limited to the following tasks; receive all plans and process accordingly, coordinate with all internal departments, external agencies as well as consultants, maintain subdivision billing accounts, track unapproved subdivision list, issue letters when necessary, prepare motions of approval and developer's agreements, attend planning commission meetings, clerical duties of recording secretary (minutes, correspondence, subdivision files etc.) and maintain stormwater inspections accounts. Respond to flood plain, zoning subdivision and land development questions. Enforcement of Health and Safety Ordinances of the Township by responding to citizen's complaints, inspect properties, inspect, and investigate illegally dumped trash and send letter/notices of violations and/or issue citations when applicable. Enforce the Zoning and Code enforcement Ordinances. Attending meetings such as Board of Supervisors regular & special meetings as applicable, planning commission meetings, bi-weekly staff meetings and zoning hearings. Provide expert testimony on technical matters at public meetings and judicial hearings. Oversee processing of all bids by composing bid specifications, assemble bid document packages, tabulate bids, check for receipt of performance bonds and return Certified checks, send notices of award to proceed and/or rejections and follow through with inspection of completed projects and initial invoices, when applicable. Inspect sidewalks and driveways and issue notices when necessary. Review, approve and sign all non-UCC and UCC building permits. Procurement and processing of Easement agreements. NPDES permitting, monitoring and inspection in the absence of the Code Enforcement Officer. G.I.S. - assist staff with keeping the system updated. Process street dedications and apply for Liquid Fuels Tax status. Maintain quality of life mapping program. Serve as US Census Coordinator. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment and outside weather conditions. Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Minimum Requirements: Five (5) years' experience or more in Zoning/Planning and/or engineering High School Diploma or G.E.D., Bachelor's degree in related field (preferred) Valid PA driver's license Provide copies of licenses and/or certifications Excellent benefits package and paid time off.
