If you enthusiastically answered "yes" to the questions above, this might be the Accountant III position for you! What do our Accountant III's do?... Perform daily reconciliation and audits of credit union financial records and systems to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner to aid members, staff, and management in accessing the most current information and timely follow-up of outstanding items. Process and complete month end closing process within acceptable credit union deadlines. Assist with Accounts Payable including invoice entry, coding, review, and payments. Work with Accounting Manager to complete monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines. Create and maintain procedures for all assigned tasks. Create and analyze credit union's financial statements and provide detailed reports to Accounting Manager for final review. Monitor cash balances and complete funds transfers between the credit union's cash accounts as needed. Maintain effective working relationships with credit union strategic partners to ensure any and all daily transactions are completed as required. Provide basic accounting training to all new credit union staff. Cross Train with other staff members on all department duties in order to cover for other team members as needed. Investigates and explains month-over-month and forecast to actual variances for selected accounts. All other duties as assigned. At last, the Accountant III role... Requires three to five years of similar or related experience. Requires a college degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Other desired skills: Ability to work independently and follow up on pending items, ability to work well within a paperless environment, organizational skills, keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, basic skill and knowledge of Word, intermediate skill, and knowledge of Excel (formulas, functions, etc.).
