That means we practice world-class pediatric medicine to treat the symptoms but we also train parents and caregivers to provide a high-level of care at home so patients continue to progress after discharge "Care Beyond the Bedside" means that our kids receive their therapies and rehab away from their rooms and out of their beds as much as 70% of the day. The rest of the time, they are playing just being kids in our state of the art facility designed to inspire children! JOB SUMMARY : Ranken Jordan currently has a job opening for an Inpatient Physical Therapist . This position is a weekend PRN position. In this position you will assess, monitor, and treat patients for physical impairments, cognitive impairments, functional limitations and developmental delays. PRN Therapists that are hired as "weekend primary" PRN staff, have increased weekday shift expectations and minimal weekend shift expectations. Weekend primary, inpatient PRN therapists are expected to work: A minimum of 12 weekend shifts/year Shifts include weekend, at least 1 holiday of choice and at least 2 weekdays(can include training days) Holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4 th of July, Labor Day or the weekend after Thanksgiving or Christmas Day No greater than 60-day lapse between shifts unless otherwise approved by Inpatient Therapy Manager or Director Weekend primary PRN are notified of and eligible to pick up shifts available any day of the week. Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure: Yes DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient Care Performs comprehensive evaluation of patients' physical and developmental needs; plans and implements appropriate therapy, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. Provides treatment that involves therapeutic use of exercise, neurodevelopmental and sensory integration techniques, positioning and alignment, environmental adaptations and home accessibility evaluations to facilitate function and increase strength and coordination. Makes recommendations for patient equipment and assists in ordering; assists in ordering and maintenance of departmental equipment, toys and supplies; assists in maintenance of agency equipment and supplies. Assists with patient caregiving to ensure patient cleanliness, comfort and safety; protects patients and employees by adherence to infection control policies. Assists in maintaining an environment that meets the physical, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patients, including participation in child development activities. Training Provides hands-on training to caregivers and student interns. Documentation/Communication Monitors patients' progress and consults with Director of Therapy Services regarding patient care, goals, interdepartmental and interdepartmental treatment facilitation. Provides oral and written communication of patient status, progress, and recommendations to other departments and within department to ensure continuity of patient care; provides communication to patient's physician as needed. Provides timely documentation consisting of patient evaluations, contact notes, progress notes, goals and discharge summaries, and records all care provided. Participates in patient care conferences, in-service education and professional education sessions. All other duties as assigned by the manager or Therapy Director. QUALIFICATIONS: The Physical Therapist must have a Bachelor's Degree from a Physical Therapy program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association. Currently licensed in the State of Missouri as a Professional Physical Therapist. Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) card from the American Heart Association. Membership in APTA and MPTA recommended. Previous experience in a pediatric setting preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying, and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.), as necessary for patient care Ranken Jordan is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
