Michigan Millers is seeking a Senior Loss Control Consultant to join our team in upstate New York! This position is responsible for providing loss control survey and consultative service to new and renewal business. The right candidate will evaluate risk exposures, hazards, and controls, and suggest necessary recommendations and improvements where needed. They will validate account operation information as part of the underwriting process and promote loss control service capabilities with agency partners. Responsibilities of a Senior Loss Control Consultant include: Complete loss control surveys and consultative service for more complex and large accounts, reporting information, and providing opinions regarding account operations, risk hazards, exposures, and controls Conducts research and data collection to help identify risk sources and potential loss Provide recommendations and resources to assist in reduction of risk exposures to support company cost containment strategies Design, develop, and implements loss control service programs for complex and large accounts to assist in the reduction of loss trends. Creates and implements mutually agreed to annual service plans for complex and large accounts including addressing loss trends. Build and maintain productive relationships with underwriting, claims, marketing, policyholders, and agents Act as loss control subject matter expertise for specific business line(s) Provide ergonomic assessments with recommendations to reduce Cumulative Trauma Disorder Provide environmental health noise sampling for evaluating large account noise levels to OSHA requirements Conduct joint agency visits with Regional Agency Managers and Underwriting to promote loss control service capabilities with emphasis on continuing account service Risk improvement services including training, consulting, hazard analysis and regulatory assessments to be conducted Perform special projects and other duties as assigned What is a must have? Ability to manage multiple projects and work closely with various team and departments Ability to design, author, or create written materials that support loss control efforts Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines required Valid and unrestricted driver's license with acceptable driving record Position may require Strong research and investigative skills Ability to analyze data to assist in evaluation of risk and development of recommendations Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills Bachelor's Degree; equivalent combination of education and related business or technical work experience in the area of insurance or occupational health and safety in lieu of degree Preferred Skills Experience presenting technical training topics to internal and external customer Extensive understanding of commercial property and casualty lines CSP, OHST, ALCM and/or ARM certifications Compensation Overview: The base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role.
