Position Overview: Performs second level support to users of hospital PC's and software. Handles support escalations from Systems Support I position. Assists System Administrator and Network Administrator in data collection for troubleshooting purposes. Ensures that PC hardware and software are updated on a regular basis. This position requires self-motivation and task orientation. Essential Functions : · Second-level support for help desk calls · Acts as a mentor for junior positions · Provides technical support to end-users while meeting department service level agreements. · Troubleshoots a variety of hardware, software, and network problems. · Escalates as needed to System Administrator and Network Administrator. · Uses customer service skills to interface and act as a resource for end-users. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum Education: A minimum of high school graduate or equivalent. Minimum Work Experience: At least a 4-year working knowledge of computers, desktops, and networks. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Required Skills: A minimum of 4 year's experience with computers. A strong familiarity with Windows XP and Windows 7 and the ability to effectively navigate within the Windows environment. Basic knowledge of Windows server environments including Active Directory, Exchange, Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012. Ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues and a basic understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals. Has a strong background with hardware and software support and troubleshooting.
