The City of Kyle's Public Works Department is seeking our next Crew Leader to join the Wastewater Utilities Division. With starting pay from $27.36-$38.22 per hour DOQ, you will be responsible the supervision of Wastewater Department Staff; including the coordinating of and performance of general maintenance and construction duties as required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City's Wastewater Collection System. Supervising a staff of seven (7) technicians, ensuring that the citizens of Kyle receive the Gold Standard in public services! In addition to hourly compensation, the City of Kyle offers a full benefits package including: TCEQ Licensing incentive pay. Company vehicle to commute to work sites within Kyle, TX. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance premiums paid by the City for all staff. 2:1 Matching retirement system. Paid-Time Off for Holidays, Sick, and Vacation Annual reviews with potential for increases. Licensing material and tests paid for by the City . Public Works Schedule M-F 8-5:30, Off at noon on Friday! Your specific duties in this role will include, but not limited to : Lead, oversees, review, and perform routine wastewater system maintenance assignments and activities, including but not limited to wastewater line installation and repairs, manhole inspection and repairs, lift station maintenance and repairs, pump repairs, wastewater line jetting, wastewater line CCTV operations, etc. Develops and implements crew assignments, assists maintenance staff in troubleshooting and performing duties, providing guidance and leadership, and ensures project completion within designated timelines. Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluations, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal. S pecific qualifications for the position include: High School diploma or equivalent. Competent training and certification from a technical or vocations school and five (5) years related work experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role is strongly preferred. Experience in reviewing engineered plans and specifications is highly preferred. Or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of required job duties and expectations. TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collection License or higher is strongly preferred, or the ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Valid Class "B" CDL with Tanker's endorsement is highly preferred, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
