Job Description: The person in this position will oversee all aspects of a comprehensive Esports program, including sponsored games, special events, and facility operation. They will supervise head coaches for sponsored games and spearhead recruitment of qualified student-athletes. The person will provide a diverse array of Esports programming that will attract participation from a broad spectrum of current and prospective students. They will manage daily operations of the Esports arena and be responsible for scheduling and equipment maintenance. Essential Functions : Oversees hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, payroll and evaluation of head coaches, assistant coaches, volunteers coaches, interns, undergraduate student staff and graduate student employees. Recruits and retains qualified student-athletes while also providing strategic oversight of similar efforts by esport head coaches. Manages all operations of the Esports arena, including hours of operation, staffing, special events, policies/procedures, and equipment oversight. Serves as a role model for team members with regards to personal and professional conduct by enforcing department and team expectations regarding general standard of behavior for student-athletes. Coordinates essential team functions, including scheduling of contests, academic monitoring, eligibility tracking, budget management, transportation, and supply purchases. Represents the university as the spokesperson for the Esports program internally with departments and organizations on campus, as well as externally at key regional and national events. Serves as a liaison with the athletic communications staff to ensure appropriate reporting of results and news related to the Esports program. Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include event management, facility supervision, assigned administrative tasks, committee work, or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings. Qualifications : Education: Work experience considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree is required Bachelor's degree is preferred Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level preferred. Successful collegiate gaming and coaching experience preferred.
