DIESEL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR Location: 2353 N. RESPONSIBILITIES With a better idea of what you'd get from employment with us, y ou probably want to know what you'd be doing, and what we expect. Your responsibilities would include, but not be limited to: Instructs, manages, and supervises students in the classroom and in the lab setting. Evaluates instruction/learning by means of written, oral practical, and performance tests. Maintains a student-oriented approach, desirable classroom/lab conditions. Maintains accurate and current reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, and performance. Knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in the auto technician field Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught including brakes, engine rebuilding, electrical, AC, cooling and exhaust, fuel systems, etc. Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques Skill in course, program, and curriculum development, computer, and computer software Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate student course work and classroom performance Ability to meet deadlines and plan, prepare, and carry out lesson plans Demonstrated successful interaction with high school and adult students, parents, business and industry representatives, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner. Interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making skills, ability to communicate orally and in writing, and ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Two years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR an associate's degree or certificate in Diesel Mechanics, Auto Technician, or a related field, AND four years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience as described above totaling six years; Minimum of 3 "T" series ASE certifications and achieve Master Technician status within 5 years of beginning employment Must have HS Diploma or GED equivalent Last, but not least, we appreciate and support our current staff and are equally excited about our new hires.
