MWRA, Intern, Process Control Deer Island, MA The MWRA Process Control Department has an opening for a summer internship. The Process Control Department provides technical support for the operation and maintenance of the MWRA Deer Island Treatment Plant, one of the largest treatment plants in the United States. Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in the preparation and updating of Deer Island Operations and Maintenance manuals. Field checks Process Schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. Assists with the Deer Island tour program. Reviews and evaluates data to monitor plant performance, process goals, and plant efficiencies. Utilizes spreadsheets, databases, and other types of software to enter/import data, create, and modify reports. Performs readings for air emissions compliance requirements and for odor control treatment monitoring. Performs sample collection of air, wastewater, sludge, or other materials as needed. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: College student studying engineering, biology, chemistry, or related engineering or science field preferred. Strong writing skills. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Other Information: Work Location: MWRA, Deer Island Treatment Plant, 190 Tafts Ave, Winthrop, MA. Work Schedule: Monday Friday 7AM to 3 PM.
