The City of Woodstock is pleased to be recruiting for a Part Time Reference Librarian at the Woodstock Public Library. We are seeking an energetic individual, passionate about his/her work. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Woodstock is a community unlike any other boasting historic 19th century buildings, dining, entertainment, accommodations, specialty shops, professional services, art galleries, and live theater. The City employs approximately 340 (full, part-time, & seasonal) employees in a variety of departments within the municipality, such as Office of the City Manager, Building & Zoning, Economic Development, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing & Communications, Opera House, Police, Public Library, Public Works, and Recreation. Job Summary This MLS position is responsible to assist patrons in locating and using materials/information; provide information, reference and programmatic services for assigned program area; and implement and/or maintain library resources and services. The work is performed under the direction of the Library Director. Schedule: Monday: 9:00am - 6:00pm Wednesday: 11:00am - 8:00pm Thursday: 9:00am - 6:00pm Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm (Every Other) Essential Duties & Responsibilities As outlined on the attached job description. Minimum Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Library Science Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years library experience Proficiency in Spanish language skills Experience managing social media platforms Please note that this position may also be filled at a lower paygrade (~$19.19 per hour) by a chosen candidate without an MLS degree, rather a bachelors degree and on track to obtain an MLS. Salary & Benefits The position is a part time, exempt position. The pay rate equivalency is $24.94 per hour and includes an IMRF pension, choice of two (2) optional employee paid vision insurance plans, and prorated holiday, vacation, and sick time.
